Glencoe Mountain Resort
Glencoe Mountain Resort offers a good range of summer and winter activities from gentle to more adventurous.
Principally built in 1956 as Scotlands first ski resort it still serves this purpose really well. In recent years we have seen another poma lift installed giving good skiing from beginner to intermediate. A further lift is being installed during the summer of 2019 which is due to open for the winter 2019/2020 season, great news. Glencoe also benefits from the Techno Aplin Snowfactory making machine. This allows 100 cubic meters of snow to be manufactured daily and pushed where needed and allows a more definite start date for the season. A sledging area is also made possible by the Techno Aplin snow making machine when natural snow might otherwise be insufficient.

In summer the access chair again provides easy access to the mountain perhaps for a head start for time limited hillwalkers wanting a cheat to the mountain tops. Many people take the chair up and walk down from the top of the access chair down the new access road constructed through 2018, great views for a photo.
Mountain bikers can enjoy throwing themselves down the mountain at whatever speed their skills allow. Bike hire available too. Competition mountain biking events are also hosted at Glencoe mountain Resort regularly.
At the cark park level there is a café which does good snacks and coffees. You can also buy hour long tickets for tubing, a great way to burn off a few calories after breakfast. Tubing is simply dragging a tractor inner tube up a artificial ski slope. Getting in and hurtling back down. A little light rainfall is great as it reduces friction and increases speed. This is great for kids and adults alike.
